A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after he hit by an SUV and then dragged by that vehicle almost 200 feet on I-5, according to a news report.

Orange Fire Department officials said that the unidentified man was riding with a group of other motorcyclists north on I-5 near the 57 freeway when he was hit from behind and thrown from his motorcycle.  He then became trapped under a Nissan SUV, which dragged him almost 200 feet before stopping.

The motorcyclist was trapped for almost an hour before he could be freed from the SUV; he was taken to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana with multiple injuries and is expected to survive.

Police said it was undetermined yet whether the SUV driver would face any changes in the motorcycle accident.
