Mariano Castillo Baltazar (25) was arrested Sunday, Feb. 6, after, the California Highway Patrol said, he caused a wrong-way collision on the 91 Freeway in Riverside that injured five people.
Baltazar was arrested in Riverside on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury and driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 or greater and causing injury.
Victims had to be cut out of both involved vehicles.
Baltazar is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The car crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes at La Sierra Avenue.
