In a collision near the University of Southern California campus, a USC-operated bus and a Metro E line train were involved in an accident that resulted in injuries for 16 individuals. The incident took place on Exposition Boulevard, sandwiched between Normandie Avenue and Figueroa Street, at approximately 11:54 a.m. on a late Tuesday morning.
Emergency services, including the Los Angeles Fire Department, promptly responded to the scene. The train implicated in the crash, part of the E line, services the commute between Santa Monica and East Los Angeles. The bus had at least two occupants, with reports confirming one suffered minor injuries and the other moderate injuries; both were transported to a local hospital.
Onboard the Metro train, at the moment of impact, were close to 30 passengers. Multiple individuals reported injuries, and the Los Angeles Fire Department oversaw the treatment of these passengers.
