Orangethorpe Ave. and Campus Dr., Fullerton, California. The accident, reported at approximately 9:05 PM, involved a black Dodge Journey and a male bicyclist.
Officers responding to the emergency discovered the bicyclist critically injured on the road and the involved vehicle close by. The 19-year-old driver of the Dodge, hailing from Buena Park, cooperated fully with law enforcement at the scene.
The early stages of the police inquiry indicate that the Dodge Journey was heading eastbound on Orangethorpe Ave. within the number one lane when the collision occurred. The exact direction of the bicyclist’s travel is presently undetermined, but the incident occurred as the cyclist was in the same lane as the vehicle. The identification of the victim awaits release by the Orange County Coroner after the next of kin has been notified.
