Priscilla Vallejo, 13, of Santa Ana, has died after her bicycle was run over by a Santa Ana Unified School District truck, according to a news report.

Santa Ana police said that Priscilla was riding a bicycle in the crosswalk at the West Edinger Avenue and South Center Street intersection when she was hit by the driver of a Santa Ana Unified School District box truck.  Police and paramedics worked to resuscitate her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene of traumatic head and chest injuries.

The Santa Ana Unified School District truck had been traveling south on Center Street and was making a right hand turn onto Edinger Avenue when the accident occurred.  Diamond Elementary and Carr Intermediate schools are located near the crash site, but it was unclear whether Priscilla attended either school.
