The driver of a street sweeper has been injured after a big-rig hit the sweeper and trapped him in the vehicle, according to a news report.
The Orange County Fire Authority said that a big-rig hauling sand hit the street sweeper on Ortega Highway at mile marker 16. The unidentified street sweeper driver was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut out by firefighters. He was taken to a regional trauma center for treatment of his injuries.
The big-rig driver was not injured in the crash, which remains under investigation.
