Early Sunday morning, Vanessa Ramirez, was killed, and Jim Rosado was arrested after a DUI crash on the 5 Freeway in Irvine.
The fatal car accident occurred around 5:30 a.m., on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway near Yale Avenue.
According to police, several vehicles collided on the northbound lanes. The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene of the fatal crash shortly after.
Tragically, when rescuers arrived, they pronounced Ramirez dead at the scene.
Paramedics also rushed at least two other people to Orange County Global Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Officials later identified the suspect as Jim Christopher Rosado. According to reports, he is now charged with murder and driving under the influence of a drug causing injury, with a sentencing enhancement allegation of inflicting great bodily injury on the victim.
Authorities did not release any additional information at this time. However, an active investigation is underway.
