A 50-year-old Santa Ana man and a 68-year-old Seal Beach woman have died after being involved in a multi-vehicle accident on the 22 freeway in Garden Grove.
The Garden Grove Police Department said that Raul Vazquez Jr. was struck and killed after he got out of his disabled vehicle on the shoulder on the eastbound 22 freeway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car that hit Vazquez then crashed into a wall, causing a three-car accident that injured the female victim, Charlotte Nugent. Nugent, who was driving one of the vehicles involved in the crash, later died at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
