The driver of an SUV hit head-on by a wrong-way driver in Brea has died as the result of the two-vehicle crash.
The Brea Police Department said that the crash occurred on Associated Road between Imperial Highway and Birch Street when a northbound pickup truck traveling the wrong way in the southbound lane of Associated Road hit the SUV head-on. The unidentified SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup truck driver was injured in the collision and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Officers accompanied him to the hospital to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved in the fatal crash. The investigation is ongoing.
